What is the difference between red and rose wine?

What is rose wine? Is it red wine or a blush wine- which I think is a mix of red and white? What foods do you serve with it? Thanks!

Rose wine is a wine that after grapes a pressed,the skins are left for short time.Red wine:long time and white:they are left out.
